'Boys Planet' debut lineup is born... A shining start




The final debut lineup has been determined on 'Boys Planet.'


On the 20th, Mnet's 'Boys Planet (BOYS PLANET)' broadcast confirmed Zhang Hao, Sung Hanbin, Seok Matthew, Ricky, Park Gunwook, Kim Taerae, Kim Gyubin, Kim Jiwoong, and Han Yujin as debut members. About 9.4 million votes were collected from 184 countries and regions worldwide, giving birth to the 5th generation rookie K-POP boy group.


The final episode of 'Boys Planet' recorded its highest ratings, with an average of 1.7% and a peak of 2.0%. In addition to steady support from women aged 20-40, the show proved its nationwide popularity by ranking first among male teenagers on all channels (AGB Nielsen, metropolitan area paid households).


The 5th generation K-POP boy group 'ZEROBASEONE' was born in front of global star creators. In the final vote determining the debut lineup, a total of 9,398,916 votes were collected from 184 countries and regions. Despite the change to the 'one-pick' system, unprecedented support was shown as 8,177,501 votes were recorded within a week from the first round.


With the reveal of the group's name, the official YouTube channel and social media accounts quickly reached 500,000 followers, and the keyword 'ZEROBASEONE' entered worldwide Twitter trends, including Korea. ZEROBASEONE signifies the 'brilliant beginning' of nine boys born from zero (0) to one (1) and promises a 'free journey' from 0 to 1 with fans.


'Boys Planet' brought together trainees from 84 regions worldwide under the common denominator of K-POP. Through auditions, a total of 98 boys, 49 each from K-POP powerhouse K Group and emerging K-POP G Group, embarked on a shining journey to become a global K-POP boy group. As a result, six from K Group and three from G Group debuted. The final debut lineup was determined by 100% star creators' votes, and 'Boys Planet' underwent verification by external professional agency Samil PwC to prevent vote manipulation by the production team.


'Boys Planet' achieved growth through a total of four missions. Trainees from different language and cultural backgrounds understood and helped each other, showing friendship beyond nationalities and deeply touching viewers. In addition, the 'Star Master' system, including Hwang Minhyun, gave advice to trainees in each mission or situation, offering differentiated charms in each episode.


As various nationalities participated, the viewership has spread worldwide. On TikTok, the hashtag 'boysplanet' content has garnered nearly 5 billion views, and the cumulative views of 'Boys Planet' related videos on Mnet's official YouTube account surpassed 400 million (as of 4/12). Trainees' faces were displayed on billboards in major domestic spots and New York's Times Square, showing the enthusiasm of global star creators.


Meanwhile, ZEROBASEONE, with its global fandom, is set to perform worldwide for two years and six months.
