According to the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ), Jimin's solo album 'FACE' has accumulated over 250,000 shipments as of March 2023, earning platinum certification.


This is the only record for a Korean solo artist in 2023, and notably, it was the first time ever for a K-pop solo singer with a Korean album, not a Japanese album.


The Japanese Recording Industry Association awards certifications such as gold (over 100,000 units), platinum (over 250,000 units), double platinum (over 500,000 units), triple platinum (over 750,000 units), and million (over 1 million units) based on cumulative shipments of singles and albums.


Jimin's 'FACE' previously topped the Oricon 'Weekly Combined Album Ranking', 'Weekly Digital Album Ranking', and 'Weekly Album Ranking', winning three crowns in the weekly music rankings. This too is an exceptional record set by a solo artist for the first time this year.


This week (as of April 17th), it ranked 7th in the Oricon 'Weekly Album Ranking,' making the top 10 for three consecutive weeks, and maintained strong popularity by ranking 3rd in the 'Weekly Foreign Language Album Ranking' and 12th in the 'Weekly Digital Album Ranking' in its third week of release.


As of March 2023, it ranked 2nd in the Oricon Chart 'Monthly Album Ranking' with sales of 234,811 units. This topped the monthly foreign language album (both Western and Asian) ranking, proving its unparalleled popularity.


On April 12th, Jimin ranked 9th in the Billboard Japan 'Download Album' chart and became the first and only non-Japanese artist to top the Billboard Japan 'Artist 100' chart on March 29th. In addition, he topped the 'Comprehensive Album' chart in the fourth week of March.


Jimin, who made history as the first and only K-pop solo artist to top the US Billboard 'Hot 100', has swept not only the Billboard and the UK Official Charts, which are considered the world's top two charts, but also Europe, the Middle East, and now the Japanese charts, demonstrating his enduring popularity.
