 Girl group BLACKPINK's agency, YG Entertainment, has announced a strong response to the fake news about member Rosé's involvement with drugs that originated in China.


On the 13th, YG Entertainment officially stated to OSEN, "The rumor related to BLACKPINK's Rosé, which is spreading on some online communities and SNS, is a clear false fact."


In particular, YG Entertainment said, "We are taking legal action against acts that infringe on the human rights of our artists and damage their reputation," and emphasized, "We are currently monitoring the creators and distributors of the rumors and will take a strong stance without any leniency or agreement in the future."


On the 12th (local time), some Chinese entertainment media, including Sina Entertainment, reported that Rosé had taken drugs at a party with friends. The creative director of a brand posted a photo of a party with Rosé and friends on SNS, raising suspicions among Chinese netizens that the ashtray on the table in the background was evidence of drug use. However, this was a fake news, a rumor based on mere speculation.


Despite this, the rumor spread rapidly in China. In response, YG Entertainment has drawn a line, stating that the rumor is groundless and announcing a strong legal response.
